… when infidels and profligates triumph; then the believer thinks the times very bad, however otherwise peaceful and prosperous. … He [God] waits, till his people are sufficiently tried, and till his enemies have filled up their measure: but he hears the sighs and prayers of his afflicted people; and he will defend their cause, and deliver them from the generation of the wicked, and from the wicked one, and that for ever. He will also rise to revive his church from the ruins, with greater glory: he hath promised, and his Word is more pure and precious than the finest silver. Let us rest upon it, and comfort our souls with it; though we cannot but grieve to see the degeneracy of the times, and the abounding of iniquity and infidelity. And even should we witness the advancement of the vilest of men to the highest dignities in church and state, and the consequent triumphs of error and wickedness over the cause of truth and holiness still let us wait and pray: the Lord will yet make his cause triumphant; and the prayers of the remnant of his people are an appointed means of ushering in those better and more glorious days, which cannot now be very far distant.

Modernists are not the same as Reformers

Those against the perfection of the KJB claim that modernists are using the same Reformation principles today. But are they?

THEN: Erasmus and the Reformers went to the Greek at hand.
NOW: Modernists dredge up manuscripts by concerted effort and focus onto the Middle and Near East areas.

THEN: The Protestants actually believed that God’s word was fully available.
NOW: Modernists are perpetually altering their work because they do not believe that the word of God is able to be fully, certainly known at every last point today.

THEN: They translated into English, which then culminated in “one more exact translation”.
NOW: They keep on translating, year by year, into English.

THEN: They said that an English translation was fully the word of God, able to comfort and resolve doctrinal issues.
NOW: They say that the real word of God was there only when first inspired, and today all things must be judged ultimately based upon the original languages.

And on and on, so don’t be fooled with the idea that the modernists are just the same as the Reformers. The modernists have foundationally departed wildly from the Protestant tradition.

The Pope supports evolution

The Pope has come out in support of evolution. Evolution is one of the teachings which stem from Infidelity. Romanism is in alliance with Infidelity, but their alliance is uneven, with Infidelity prevailing. Infidelity has also made significant inroads within Protestantism, particularly by Higher Criticism, Liberal Theology and Modernism. The old Protestant versus Catholic has now become the Bible believer versus the spirit of error.
